Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of DancePoint, a platform operated by LysakerWCS that enables event organisers to manage dance event registrations and payments. By creating an account or registering for an event you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

DancePoint acts solely as a technology platform. Each event is independently organised and managed by an Event Director. DancePoint and LysakerWCS are not co-organisers of any event listed on the platform and bear no responsibility for the event itself, its cancellation, or any dispute arising from it.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
• You must be at least 18 years old to use DancePoint independently; minors may participate only with the consent of a parent or guardian
• One account per person — creating multiple accounts is not permitted

3. Event registrations

• Registrations are subject to approval by the Event Director
• Payment is only charged after your registration is approved
• Approved registrations are binding — cancellation and refund policies are set solely by the Event Director for each event
• DancePoint may cancel registrations that violate these terms, but has no obligation to adjudicate disputes between participants and Event Directors
• Any questions about an event — programme, schedule, accommodation, or cancellation — should be directed to the Event Director, not to DancePoint

4. Payments

Payments on DancePoint are processed through one or more of the following providers, depending on how each event is configured by its Event Director:

• Payment processing fees are charged directly by the provider (Vipps, Nets, Stripe) to the Event Director — DancePoint does not add a per-transaction fee on top of provider fees
• Refunds are initiated and issued by the Event Director through their payment provider account. DancePoint does not control refund decisions and is not a party to any refund transaction
• DancePoint and LysakerWCS are not liable for payment disputes, chargebacks, or failed transactions between participants and Event Directors

5. Event Director responsibility

Event Directors who use DancePoint to manage their events accept the following obligations:

• The Event Director is solely responsible for the event, including its content, safety, cancellation, and any obligations towards participants
• The Event Director must hold any required permits, licences, or insurance for the event
• The Event Director is responsible for communicating accurate event information, pricing, and cancellation terms to participants
• Payments are collected directly into the Event Director's own payment accounts (Vipps, Nets Easy, Stripe, or bank). DancePoint does not handle, hold, or process participant funds at any point
• The Event Director is the merchant of record for all transactions. All payment disputes, chargebacks, and refund obligations are the sole responsibility of the Event Director
• In the event of cancellation or refund, the Event Director is responsible for returning funds to participants directly through the relevant payment provider
• The Event Director must comply with applicable Norwegian and EU consumer protection law, including right-of-withdrawal rules where applicable

Platform fee

• DancePoint charges a platform service fee of 1% of total event revenue, capped at NOK 5,000 per event, unless otherwise agreed in writing with DancePoint
• The platform fee is invoiced to the Event Director and is separate from any fees charged by payment providers (Vipps, Nets Easy, Stripe)
• Platform fees are non-refundable. If participants receive refunds for any reason, the platform fee paid to DancePoint for that event is not returned to the Event Director
• Custom fee arrangements must be agreed in writing before the event opens for registration

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse or harm other users
• Attempt to circumvent payment processes

7. Intellectual property

All content on DancePoint — including the brand, design, and code — is owned by LysakerWCS. You may not reproduce or distribute it without written permission.

8. Limitation of liability

DancePoint is provided as-is. LysakerWCS is not liable for:

• The actions or omissions of any Event Director or event participant
• The cancellation, postponement, or modification of any event
• Any failure or delay in payment processing caused by a third-party provider (Vipps, Nets, Stripe, or a bank)
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform

Our liability to you is limited to the platform service fees paid to LysakerWCS in the 12 months prior to any claim.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.
